This time of year, it’s all about giving thanks. To take a moment out of our busy lives and show some appreciation and gratitude. The DeCelle Memorial Lake Tahoe Relay is incredibly thankful for every runner that has joined us in years past and those who will join us again! We’re also grateful that our Alums are kicking butt as part of the South Tahoe Cross Country team.
South Tahoe Cross Country Team Made It To State… Again!

Fall 2018, South Tahoe High School sent four students down to the Las Vegas Cross Country Championships. Truly student-athletes, the two girls, Carissa & Eliana, combined have the highest GPA in Nevada. And two boys, Christopher & Leyton… this was Christopher’s fourth year making it to State and Leyton’s first.
Carissa Buchholz Continues Adding To Her Legacy

Carissa Buchholz, who we interviewed last year, made it back to State and won another title. And not just in one discipline either. Carissa also won 3 state titles in track last year in the 800, 1600 AND 3200 meter races! For a long-distance runner to compete AND win in a short distance race like the 800 is rare especially that they’re almost right after each other on the race schedule.
Again, a big heart-felt “Thank You” goes out to ALL racers that were part of our race. Just know that your price for admission to the DeCelle Memorial Lake Tahoe relay helps supports youth running programs like the South Tahoe Cross Country Teams. Without you, these stories would not be possible. Congratulations to the entire South Tahoe Cross Country Team and here’s to another big year!
